I guess it's MDK, but think about it. If we had only one distro it doesn't really matter which one would it be. When all the developers would work with only one distro, we couldn't possibly recognize it any more in one years time. I'd love to see this distro. Always fancied a holographic interface!

i always wanted BeOS to phoenix flame from the ashes but i can accept linux if things become co-hesive rather than the fragmentation that has held it back for too long.

That's the unique thing about perception.......I see it as moving forward so fast that it hasn't been able to catch up with itself .......yet.

The flames are flickering for BeOS:

You could toast a marshmellow on these flames:

Dang, this would grill a t-bone steak:
    where to get it

Honey, will you get the fire extinguisher? It's getting hot in here!

tried em, BeOS personal edition, BeOS max and developers edition, the only one i aint tried is yellowtab since that costs £50 which just aint good when i dont get to try it first there is hardly a huge user base. more to the fact its still an release candidate. maybe when the final edition is out i may try it out.

I prefer slack because it is the one who worked the best for me. 2 versions of mandrake both had a bad install, 2 versions of RH had bad installs, Debian I just didnt like, Gentoo took way too long. I had some problems with slack but I was able to figure it out by upgrading to 10.0.
    Why windows, Why not Linux?

i started with suse 7.3 and thought wow, i quite liked the theme they had cooked up and it was soooo mad having such a choice of software.

debian is a great distro but theres always a problem with it whenever i install, slackware is sooo clean and fast but after trying arch its a combinataion of slack and debian in one with the best features of each. never tried gentoo.

The great thing about Linux is it comes some shapes and sizes. Linux will fit just about anyones needs they just have to find the right distro.

I'll say Gentoo. On a 1.4 Ghz Athlon (standard, no -xp or whatever), on a 500Mhz Pentium II (celleron), and on a 167 Mhz Pentium One! Ha ha ha!
