GNOME - How is it pronounced?

Just curious, how is GNOME to be pronounced? Is it "nome" or is it "gee-nome"?

I'm just new and not up yet on all of the lingo.

I've heard guh-nome before, but most people around here just say nome. GNU is still Guh-NU, though.

"nome" because "guh-nome" or "gee-nome" sounds stupid.

I thought GNU was Guh-Nuu, as in the words "gun" and "new".

I used to call it "Es-See-Es-Eye" until my dad started saying "Scuzzy".

    I believe it's "scuzzy."

But how do you pronounce Xine? According to the website:
the official pronounciation is [ksi:n], like the name "Maxine" with the "Ma" removed.
Huh? I don't think this is a thing ugly Americans like me can pronounce properly.
