How to join a linux client computer to a SAMBA PDC (with LDAP database)

    Dear All,

actually I got the wrong question before, before I asked how to make samba authenticate linux client, but actually what I need is to join a linux client to a already setup Samba PDC (that uses LDAP database).

I am not sure if I have describe the problem in the right way, because I am also quite confuse with PDC.
My system administrator had successfully joined the windows client to his Samba PDC and is trying to figure out how to configure the linux client to join the Samba PDC

    hope anyone cnahelp...

    thanks!!

Check out this article in the JL help library:

Even though it shows joining a linux machine to a Windows domain, the principles and commands should be the same for joining a linux machine to a PDC running on Samba.

The backend database used to contain usernames on the Samba server shouldn't make any difference.
If God hadn't meant for us to use GUI tools, there wouldn't have been a Xerox PARC.
