    quantian install

    struggling to get a quantian cluster up and running

    i need very basic help--newbee --each computer (2) has a nic card and cat 5 cable going into a hub--hub only shows that power is on--no flashing lights
    any help is appreciated

    Whats the problem? The hub? Hows the IP addresses setup?

    Very basic answers:

    Are your network cards working (properly installed) and are you using the right kind of cables (straight-thru instead of crossed).

    quantian setup

    the cables are cat 5 straight thru going into a hub--all i see is the the power light on --no lights flasing--nic cards have no light indicators

    this maybe a quantian setup problem and not a linux one

    i assume that when i run quantian it automatically finds and configures what it needs to do

    there is some documentation about quantian and tons about openmozix which quantian uses

    So what your saying is that quantian can't see the machines in your cluster right, by the way I don't know anything about clusters

    Do you know that the hub is working? Have you tired a different hub/cables? Can you ping the different machines?
