    linux books

Does anyone have any suggestion on some books about linux. The ones that I have browsed thru are usually specific to fedora, or explain how to do everything thru the a GUI. Im looking to find something that will teach me how to do things without the GUI, and more along the lines of the debian distro

'Running Linux' is the seminal work for this kind of thing. If you want something specifically Debian, then 'Running Debian GNU/Linux' is the one.

    Both are O'Reilly books.

And one or both of those that mrBen posted should be freely available online as well.

I've been using "Linux Administration: A Beginners Guide" by Graham and Shaw. It goes over all sorts of intranet and internet services, using the CLI for all of them except CUPS. For CUPS by the CLI I mainly used "man lpadmin".
