TechCat, you should have networked all those old computers into a GIANT BEOWULF CLUSTER!!!! That would be cool. That's what I'm doing, when one day I have 25 obsolete computers that I paid... too much for

My corner of the computing world (and a comparatively small corner at that!): http://homepage.mac.com/abracasivity/

Sorry for the gigantic photos. I'm new to the whole Mac thing, and iPhoto's being a pain . Does anyone know of a simple program for the Mac to adjust the quality (read: disk space usage) of a jpg? And for that matter, a program that makes cropping easier...

nko, Apple's preview app will let you export either to another file format or to a jpg will lower quality settings, just go to export, then select jpg and hit the options button. As for cropping, and/or general image editting you can probably use AppleWorks, but I suggest grabbing a copy of Photoshop Elements 2.0(if you've got an extra $70 hanging around).

The box on the right is my workstation:

The 2nd from the right is a server I'm setting up for a library. It runs Debian.

3rd from right is an old box I'm going to load Debian onto for tinkering.
    4th, same as above.

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite S115-S103, 1.4 ghz, 256 mb ram. Runs Windows XP and Debian.
