    Updated Forum...

To be honest, the forum at the moment isn't too good.
Maybe install a recent version of invision?

The again, lots of people have slow machines that cannot cope with the large amount of scripts that are required...

    Anyway, just a though eh?

Can you be more specific about the problems you're experencing?

Also, I have not seen invision in action. Do you know of a website that's using it?

Hmm... phpBB, that sounds like a good idea...

    Or not...

(Maybe you've missed the huge number of worms targeted at phpBB forums lately? True, past bugs don't automatically mean that the software is bad, but it'll take a while before I'd be comfortable using it again.)

I agree, this forum works great on all my machines. You could lose the news at the bottom of the front page though; it's pretty annoying.

I'll second that. It sucks. It's over twice the length of the actual content above it (the thread list). I never bother to read it.

What's your point? If you never bother to read it, how can you know it sucks?

    ...I like it there.

For those who know of copyrights at the footer would know that this is a vBullitin board,

    Powered by: vBulletin Version 2.3.4
I actually have no problem with it other than it could use some consolidation, remove double posts, reformat the How I did it 's as some contain the problem with everyone helping to fix it, or has the Title solved in the title but the answer is cryptic (you have to read the whole thred to find solution), IF solved problems contained the full solution at the end of the whole thred then more people who search for answers may find more solutions and not have to post looking for the answer, with replys about "Search first ask second".

I read some of the news every now and then, and for those that don't than don't scroll down that far.

I think it should be on a seperate page ... called news. It's probably some internet.com requirement though.

No. it's not a requirement, per se. It's just that the content comes from Linux Today, which I also run. Ideally, it should provide topics for discussion in /dev/random.

I like the look and feel of this forum better than that invision look.

If I could make one change in this forum it would be a more advanced search capability similar to what they have at LQ.

Well, a lot of mixed feelings I see...
Sorry about my idiotic scripting asumption (maybe I am just a newbie)

It just that I have used invision a lot and I like the extra capabilities it has - like extensive skins etc...

No worries, a forum is a forum I guess...
