[SOLVED] creating install cd's from iso files

i've download the iso files for 9.0. i tried burning them as data cd's and the result is a pc that boots to "grub>". i looked at the cd on my windows maching and it just shows the .iso file on the cd. did i not burn this properly? if not, what is the procedure/format to burn them?

    TIA

you are burning it as a file.

you have to burn it as an image.

You should be able to just double-click the .iso file and it will open in your favorite burner app, i.e. Nero, Roxio or Sonic. (k3b or xcdroast in Linux) Then just click "burn" and away it goes!

if you're using gnome just right click the iso file in nautilus and click on "write to disc"

Either way will work, so go ahead and use the default.

actually, it is not well expained there. if it was i would have had 9.0 installed yesterday. following there direction results in a "data" cd and not an image cd.
