That's how it always starts. Gnome, KDE, XFCE, and then to crack.

I use Gnome Most of the Time, but I do tend to use Window maker a lot as well.

I tried KDE at first, then went the fluxbox/blackbox/xfce/enlightenment route for a while. Somehow ended up sticking it out with Gnome so far. Luckily I have enough hardware to manage it.

I don't know what I'd do without KDE. Just wish I didn't have to use Konqueror or Krusader.

XFCE and FluxBox are the faves.

KDE.
I use K on the boxes that can handle it, and Fluxbox on the ones that can't. I'm really trying to get more into Flux. I admire its speed and simplicity. I haven't messed much with XFCE, but want to. fvwm (not fvwm-95) has a lot of great looking themes, and is a good choice if you need to make the desktop look like XP (for those who fear Linux).

Enlightenment has always been my favorite desktop. The only window managers/desktops that are installed on my desktop PC are E16 and E17. I use E16 mainly, as E17 is not quite there yet, but when its released it will be awesome. E16 is also what I use on the rare occaision that I start a local X session on my FreeBSD box, though I also have Fluxbox installed there for use in remote X sessions.
