    new SETI team for justlinux

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to anounce the creation of a SETI@Home team dedicated JustLinux (completely unofficial and not affiliated with this fine establishment at all).

I know, you say I should donate my CPU's to Folding@Home, but there is, rather unfortunatly, no SPARC port. So I will search for aliens instead.

Join up here to auto-join yourself to the team.

For those for whom the link doesn't work.

Anyway, see you all on Alpha Centauri!

In my opinion, the justlinux foldingathome team (see sig) is a FAR more worthwhile endeavor. But they have no sparc binaries, so I guess I'll see what the ss20 can pull. Don't Laugh!

i agree. but like i (and now you) have said, no SPARC binaries, and it's not open source, so no very little chance of it happening....

and i think i must have a problem with my BOINC config, or TTU's servers block seti traffic as well :-\

I seem to be the only one realy active on this team.
Why is foldingathome more important than searching for aliens?
I have just 2 day experience with this stuff but i know how to add other teams and delegade 50% or what not!

Because, unlike finding aliens, practicing folding proteins may actually help humanity find cures for some nasty diseases like Parkinson's (SP?) Disease.

Which reminds me, I need to install the Folding client again.

..Its not a bad thing, I was just commenting on the resurection of the SETI for JL team, I started one up about a year ago and a month later dropped it because I didn't see much happening, In fact a month later I still was working on the same info, at least with the folding I would finish WU of the larger size in 2 days at the most, unless I actually use the computer then it took a little longer.
