What's With the Microsoft Banners/Ads?
Being a pro Linux site, I find it ironic that there are THREE (3) Microsoft banners linking to their "Get the Facts - Linux vs. Windows" propaganda.
It would make more sense to have these banners link to Novell's response to these untruthful statements "Unbending the TRUTH: Things Microsoft Hopes You Won't Notice" http://www.novell.com/linux/truth/

Why, whatever do you mean? 
Seriously, it's a long-established and occasionally commented-upon fact of life that Microsoft pays most of the bills around here. To what extent it has to do with the fact that JL is part of a larger group of sites, and to what extend it is a conscious attempt by MS to reach the dissaffected, I have no way of knowing. In time you will learn to enjoy the fact that MS sees fit to pay for the rope that will hang them in the end.

No, Microsoft does not pay the bills.
Jupiter Media subscribes to various Advertising Streams. They do not control the content of the ads that come.
