Hehe ditto. Although its nice to have a long weekend off (coincidence, not because I'm an American although having spent my life in border cities, I sometimes wonder)
Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?

Thanksgiving Day mainly serves one purpose: getting started with all the Christmas shopping.

Which rather amazingly applies to your country as well

Huh? We don't have a Thanksgiving Day overhere, it is only remotely comparable comparable to the one in the US. And we don't get a weekend off.

I know, which sucks!!! (Both not having a weekend off and no turkey, cranberry sauce or pumpkin pie!!!) I am "over here" or "over there" if you prefer- I just meant that it is funny but it's always about the same time as Thanksgiving that you start to see Christmas stuff. At least it's true in Fribourg...
