The Complete Ultimate Linux Newbie Guide
Hi,
I am the author of the site at www.linuxnewbieguide.org which is a user friendly, step by step introduction for complete newbies to Linux. It assumes almost no computer knowledge whilst at the same time not treating you like an idiot, guiding you through choosing a Linux distribution, installing it (step-by-step graphical walk through of Ubuntu 5.10 included), as well as information about installing software and much more that a newbie just needs to know.
Check it out today at:

YES! That's what I'm talkin about!
There has long been a need for documentation that really takes the Newbie's point of view, and from the brief look I just took (I'm going to spend a lot more time with it) this fills the need as well as anything I've ever seen. I've long wanted to do something like this myself, but I've been learning the ropes.
I've said this before: The Linux documentation is quite naturally going to lag behind the software in becoming accesible to newcomers. Much of the new documentation is going to come from people like me, who struggled blindly to learn Linux from documentation written by geeks for other geeks, finally got somewhere, and now look back and ask themselves the question: "What would have made this easier?"
Just yesterday, I started working on my own newbie site. But now, I think it's going to include a link to your site.

Blackbelt, would you be willing to help out at www.linuxnewbieguide.org ? This seems right up your alley and they could probably use some good help. It would really be neat if we all worked together to Unite Linux, instead of further divide it.

Not a bad idea. I'll take a good hard look at the site, and see if I think I can contribute.

Great work! Wish a site like yours was around when I was just learning to play with linux. Would have helped tremendously. I still don't know nearly enough. Thanks and keep up the great work!
