    Unhappy Jack MIDI not working after SB Liveinstall + remove

    Hi list,

    I tried installing a 'Soundblaster Live!' (model CT4670 ).
    It was instantly recognised, but the motherboard soundcard dissapeared and I wanted to keep that.
    After removing the Soundblaster and rebooting there is no Jack MIDI.
    Mobo sound works again...
    I'm on APODIO, wich is based on Mandrake.

    mobo = A8V-E DELUXE

    Thanks!

    Tim

    Maybe disable the onboard sound/midi in the CMOS reboot into <os> then enable sound/midi in CMOS and reboot again. See if that helps, otherwise run kudzu (if they still use it).

    uh, sorry, being a newbie and all in Linux, I don't know how to disable the onboard sound/MIDI in the CMOS.
    kudzu in terminal returns 'command not found'
    thanks

    ok I think you meant disabling the soundcard in the system setup of the motherboard, right ?
    I did this, disable it, boot, shut down, reenable it, boot.
    Still the same problem i guess:
