    Ping ip # through linux??

    Hello,

    Does anyone know what i open to ping an ip#.?
    WIndows xp is like milk ...it always expires
    -ghacker


    Dell latitude c600
    Pentium 3/750mhz
    Suse 10 (kde)
    10gb hd
    256 mb ram

    A terminal window or virtual console usually works for me

    then simply type
    ping -c 4 #
    where # is the ip number and 4 is the amount of packets you want to send.
    man ping, will explain it further.

    yeah in linux it wil ping forever unless you give the ping the -c flag.
    whenever you need help with commands refer to the man page. Its a great way to learn commands....

    Desktop: P3 933MHZ 256MB RAM 160GB HDD OS: Windows XP(used to print stuff),
    why not setup cups and use linux to print ? If i had windows installed i would only use it for games . But im not a pc gamer.
