    pacman issues in arch linux

so i just downloaded the latest arch linux iso. everything installed wonderfully (base install), but i have a few questions on how to set up pacman.

i didn't expect all my repositories to be set up immediately, but figured i'd give it a shot. so i ...

    pacman -Sy

looks like it updated something so i ..

    pacman --add xorg

and obviously it's not found...went back online to get a tutorial or something on pacman.conf and came across this site...

    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/..._configuration

from there i went back into arch amd copied those configs to their respective directories, then again ran ...

    pacman -Sy

looked like it did something....so again i run...

    pacman -add xorg ... nothing
    pacman -add fluxbox ... nothing
    pacman -add gnome ... nothing

and these packages are still not found? is it not syncing? is it my commands? configs? anyone familiar with arch that could lend a hand to what i'm doing wrong?

    thanks,

    mercyful fate

You can edit/change your repositories in

/etc/pacman.conf to add "community" or "unstable" -unstable is just that.

you can change your mirrors in /etc/pacman.d/community or stable, etc

Welcome to the wonderful world of Archlinux.
