    help with gateway firewall?

Wondered if anyone might be able to shed some light on
wee struggle I'm having. I have installed a Linux
solution called clark connect home 3.2 (have you heard
of it?) www.clarkconnect.com The problem is I am very
numb to firewall setting, about all I know is that
firewalls open and close doors for access to Internet
or web server etc... I have successfully installed
and logged in to the web admin dashboard facility. So I do
have a connection from my pc to the gateway on the
HTTPS ip address. But I can't seem to get my head
around the port forwarding or incoming, outgoing info
etc... Thus giving me no access to the Internet
If at all possible could someone please provide me the information to which ip or port I need open and point it to or possibly walk me
through the process? I have search through all the
forums and there seem to be no specifics to my
scenario as I am not trying to access a web, email or
    VPN Servers.

    Very new struggling Linux user!

you should be able to ping www.google.com from inside the firewall.
and the ports you forward depend on the services you want to run...
