Hey I searched the forum for those monthly screenshots, but I could only find as recent as July.
Did people lose interest in screenshots of beautiful eye-candy/high-end Desktop organization? jeez I hope not.

This is my Fedora 7 box at work. It's pretty plain, but I like clean desktops, and it keeps any wandering eyes from seeing it and exclaiming,
"ZOMG, He's running Linux, WTF BBQ!!1"

In my case, apparently so.

The really nice thing is that by adding this line to the init file:
session.screen0.rootCommand: fbsetbg -r ~/.fluxbox/backgrounds/slackware-random
I have preset fluxbox to choose a random background every time that fluxbox is restarted. I really enjoy this feature quite a bit, I learned it from Vector Linux's version of fluxbox. I also have a submenu with a dozen or so favorite backgrounds that I can choose at will.

(It'll say No Image, but click on Login and use cbid / cbid to login. What can I say... I lead 2 lives. )

I do what I can, while I can.
My situation may change soon, which'll be good for me, but I will then loose 5 of my folding machines. But then... maybe I can afford a couple of faster personal machines.

My all-powerful Konqueror homepage!

If there was ever any doubt, I have now proved to my own satisfaction that just about anything that Konqueror can do, it can be made to do with an html link. Basically, if you right click on any icon, click on "copy", and paste the contents of your clipboard into the "a href=" field of your standard html link, you got yourself a link to an application, a directory, a file, or a playlist. This includes custom command icons you make yourself on the kde desktop. It's all good!
(As an example, by making a custom command icon, I can get konqueror to open youtube.com in firefox, which has better flashplayer support.)
The custom Slackware Logo and the buttons came from cooltext.com. The pipesmoking penguin courtesy of slackware.com.

Plain and simple. Clean and smooth the only way to go. Maybe that link will work.
