Low resource version of Linux
I was thinking of buying an Internet Radio, but I have an old P2 400MHz laptop kicking around and that got me thinking, why can't I use that.
So, I want a low resource distro of Linux, to be able run Audacious Media Player, playback the audio and the such like, which distro would be the best for this?
I was tempted to go for non GUI install to keep things minimal, but a GUI would be very useful for browsing the Internet, but I'm looking for the bare essentials, just enough to run Audacious.
I'm also considering booting a distro from a memory stick and running it from that, is DSL the best option? Can I boot DSL from the memory stick and run everything from memory and do without the hard disk?

I would suggest PuppyLinux

Fluxbuntu...?
Probably not as light as Puppy, but is quite complete.
You could also try AntiX. It is based on Mepis and should fit the bill perfectly. It is in an alpha stage, though.
* The basic idea is to go with a distro that comes with a lightweight WM, such as fluxbox, larswm, pekwm, ratpoison, etc.

Thanks for the info.
I tried downloading PuppyLinux but the server went down so I have downloaded DamnSmallLinux and it works fine.
So far, if I open the the browser up, browse to my favourite Internet radio station, click on there 128k MP3 link it fires up Xmms and starts playing, all works really well, but I can I automate that process?
Most of the time I only listen to the one station so I just want it to boot and go straight to it - couldn't see anything it Xmms for adding URLs.

slackware linux. just don't install allot of heavy appz. Don't use Gnome or KDE if you use a window manager. They are heavy resource appz.
I wouldn't even use X. find command line programs for radio.
play , aplay and some console raido juxboxs work well.
I don't run kde myself or gnome but instead use kdelibs and qt , GTK .
