ZyXEL Prestige 600 Series
Hi,
I've just moved into an apartment with an existing ADSL line. There's a ZyXEL Prestige 600 Series 4 port hub, wifi, and DSL modem connecting me to the ISP.
However, the wifi is not enabled.
I do not have the admin password to get into the admin interface; I'm wary of doing a factory reset in case I cannot get back online (the landlord gave me an incorrect password for the admin interface, and so I'm not sure I'd 100% trust any ISP usernames or passwords he could offer).
Is there any way that I'd be able to reset the password for the admin interface on this modem without losing other settings, so that I can just get in and turn on the wifi?
I'm thinking not, but you never know!
Cheers,
-S.

It's all or nothing when it comes to resetting the firmware. However, this particular howto page includes your default admin password: http://portforward.com/english/route...BitTorrent.htm
And the following two sites have consistent information:
http://www.cirt.net/passwords?vendor=Zyxel
http://www.phenoelit-us.org/dpl/dpl.html
You can decide whether you want to risk losing the settings or not, but I think you're on fairly safe ground.

The admin password is going to be set by your ISP. Who is it? You can likely just give them a call and ask. I wouldn't reset it if i where you, it could be pppoa or pppoe which would probably cause it to lose the un/pw it needs to get online.
but really, i dont know what im talking about.

Admin password for the box, not for the ISP
I've asked my landlord for ISP details. We'll see if he can get those to me.

Usually these things are pretty simple to set up, but you will still need that password from your ISP.
I'd suggest contacting them for as much information as you can (including that password) and then do a factory reset anyway. After all, the router isn't a lot of use without it, is it?
