I lost power for two weeks from Gustav, so I can assume he would have about the same issues from Ike. The class was not high enough to cause mass flooding (like Katrina) on my end, but it did knock down many trees, power lines, and all 14 major transmission lines.
I'm moving NW next year - most likely Portland, OR. I don't think I'm going to miss hurricanes at all...

Well, he goes/went to, the University of Houston, and Houston was either a mandatory evacuation location or a very strongly recommended evacuate from location... I haven't been on IRC recently, so my money is on he had to bug out, and is somewhere where he doesn't have the time/ability to moderate here for a little while.
