Smile How to get Suse 11.1 to get on internet?

Hi i am new to linux and i have just installed Suse 11.1 and i cant get on the internet. I have insightbb which is a kentucky broadband cable internet service. On older versions of suse i can install and it detects it automatically. But now i cant even grab an ip address or anything. Any help on how to configure the network or broadband modem would be appreciated. Thanks you all for any help.

    Jay

First change your font color for the forum so your post are more readable...then in your terminal issue the command "ifconfig" (without quotes) and post the results here.
"I was pulled over for speeding today. The officer said, "Don't you know
the speed limit is 55 miles an hour?" And I said, "Yes, but I wasn't going
    to be out that long."

If the ifconfig indicates that eth0 is up, you may want to check the firewall.

I installed SUSE 11 a little while ago just for fun and the firewall that was preinstalled came configured to not allow access to the internet or remote access from another machine. For an inexperienced user this would be a tough condition to overcome.

    Good Luck,
