Who are the oldest members here (registration date)?

I was just doing some searching through Google to try to find out some of the first forums I joined. It looks like this may be one of the first ones outside of mailing lists that will be impossible to find. Any other members here that joined before 2000? Do you remember what linux forums were around then?

    I think December 1999

I will verify as soon as I post. This board, under its original name was pretty much Big Man on Campus in those days. Admins said if they had a Windows question, they had to sit at their desk on hold for two hours. If they had a Linux question, they posted it here, went about their work, and two hours later, checked, and almost always the answer was waiting for them

That was actually a re-join, after internet.com bought out sensei^-san - I actually created an account in mid-'98, lurked a tad before that.

    Now get off my lawn!

That's what I was thinking also. It seems to me there was one other, and then LinuxQuestions.org came along. I do remember coming back to Linux for the 2nd or 3rd time and finding that this site had changed forums.

Far from being the oldest, but 8 years isn't a bad time. God only knows where I was when I joined here! And I don't want to know, either!

If memory serves me correctly, he registered on Linux Nubie Org one month prior to my joining in September, 1999.

    jlany,

Your are right. MDWatts joined date is 12-1-99 and you were before him by a couple of months.

Only ph34r managed less than a month ahead of you.

November 2002 here. I joined during an Internet Security course in my undergrad degree. I had some networking questions. The lab we used was running Mandrake at the time.
