resume=what?
If you put resume= in the kernel command line, what should it equal - the swap partition????
I.e. in, say, grub's menu.lst: kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/hda3 ro quiet nosplash root=???? I think we should be told.

"resume=[name of partition]"
This is part of your apends =resumes in you boot up in lilo or grub.When it wakes up it knows which drive to resume to.
You can gain further insight into the resume function and any problems you could have.
