As you can see there are no usb1 or usb2 or 3 interfaces. Can you shed some light on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I found this link that has some good info but I still have the problem

Well, you have 4 ethernet interfaces there, are eth1-eth3 not the USB ethernet interfaces?
-
Your "ifconfig" will not show what type of connector is present (USB,RJ45 etc) only the interface they are connected to (eth0,pan0,wlan0 etc).

Well problem has been solved. There were a lot of details that I did not include such as what distro and what type of usb to ethernet nics I am using. LOL, I am still trying to find out my self. They are a generic brand that are made in China. Bought them really cheap off of ebay.
Initially I was trying to get this to work in Suse 11.1. I took my usb Hub and the usb to Ethernet adapters to work and had one of our LInux experts troubleshoot it. He said that it worked right away on his machine. Of course I was shocked, comes to find out he was using Suse 11.2.
SInce then, I have installed 11.2 and everything is working as expected. Must be a kernel module that suse 11.2 had that 11.1 did not.
Thanks John T, I was expecting a usb0 or usb1 but later found out it depends on the hardware module on what type of interface will be created for the hardware. Well that was what I was told.
Anyway Thanks
Thanks for you replies.
Greatly appreciated.
