    Admin/config Windows remotely

    Hi folks,

    Debian5.0
    Windows server 2007
    Windows Vista
    WAN - public IP or Internet

    I'm looking for a reliable solution to remote-admin
    Windows server and workstation on Linux workstation. I have been running ssh for sometimes to remote-admin Linux/Unix servers on Linux workstation.

    Google brought me following links;

    OpenSSH for Windows
    http://sshwindows.sourceforge.net/

    OpenSSH on Windows v3.4-3
    http://www.networksimplicity.com/openssh/

    How to install OpenSSH sshd server and sftp server on a Windows
    http://erdelynet.com/2004/08/30/cygw...gwin-ssh-docs/

    http://pigtail.net/LRP/printsrv/cygwin-sshd.html

    The project OpenSSH for Windows seems coming to a stop.

    Are there any other suggestions? TIA

    It depends on the version of Windows. If it's Server 2003 or lower, you can use rdesktop. For 2008, VNC would be fine.

    Hi folks,

    This is a workstation running Windows Vista. With RDP on Vista and TSClient on Debian 5.0 (host of a virtualization box) I can connect Vista and display it on Debian screen. However I couldn't solve following problem.

    On Vista
    Start -> Computer (right-click) -> Properties
    Click "Remote Settings" item

    On System Properties window
    Code:
    [check] Allow Remote Assistance connection to this computer
    [check] Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure)
    Then it works for connection without problem.

    But
    Code:
    [check] Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication (more secure)
    Can't work.

    I have been tweaking around for couple days and can't find a solution. Any advice? TIA
