In troubleshooting virtualbox, I'm noticing that the -LOG option for iptables is flooding my dmesg. I understand dmesg just prints the kernel ring buffer, and that iptables is most likely at the kernel level, but is there a way to have the log function skip over the kernel ring buffer and dump to a file in /var/log? With in a few hours of being booted, the buffer has been purged of boot up information with so many dropped packets (mostly because this box is set to block UPnP traffic that goes between my server and ps3).
