    Oracle aquires Sun Microsystems: What's the fate of MySQL and Java

    So what's everyone's thoughts on Oracle aquiring Sun Microsystems, specifically, the fate of Java and MySQL?

    I think the buyout will ultimately be a good thing. Java will continue to be developed and I get the feeling Oracle will use MySQL as a lower priced solution, probably paired either with Solaris or Linux, as compared to Oracle Database server. I just think they can coexist as product lines.
    I equivocate, therefore I might be.
