New laptop for friend going to college, $600 budget.
What is your maximum budget?
$600
What will be the uses of this laptop?
My friend is using it for college, but I'm sure he would appreciate being able to run SC2. It needs a good battery life
Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you?
Not really
What screen size do you require?
Not that important
What screen resolution do you require?
Not that important
Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay?
NEW
How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet)
Two hours or more, preferably more
What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings?
SC2, medium/low is fine
Can this **Link removed by site staff. ** do the job?

Nice website if you can get it to check your hardware:
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/
PC MINIMUM System Requirements
• Operating System: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 (all versions of Windows must be fully updated)
• CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.6GHz or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
• RAM: 1 GB on XP / 1.5 GB on Vista and Windows 7
• Graphics Card: 128 MB nVidia PCI express GeForce 6600 GT or ATI Radeon 9800 Pro or better video card
• DirectX: Microsoft DirectX 9.0c
• Hard Drive: 12 GB free space
• DVD-Rom drive
• Broadband Internet Connection (DSL, Cable, T1, etc.)
PC RECOMMENDED System Requirements
• Operating System: Windows Vista or Windows 7 (all versions of Windows must be fully updated)
• CPU: Dual Core 2.4 GHz processor
• RAM: 2 GB
• Graphics Card: 512 MB nVidia PCI express GeForce 8800 GTX or ATI Radeon HD 3870 or better video card
I think it might be tough to find a laptop that meets these specs for under $600. It has low, medium, high, and ultra graphics settings, and I have seen many reports of people playing on low or medium with lesser specs.
