    Incompatibility Outrage! ;-)

    Heheh...

Don't you just hate it when you build a computer and the motherboard says it supports Sandy Bridge so you throw together a nice little mini-ITX system with a Core i7-2600K and 8GB or RAM and an SSD in a nice little SG05 case and then fire it up and get a yellow warning message that the CPU is not supported on this motherboard. Oh, well, it supports Sandy Bridge. The Core i7-2600. But NOT the Core i7-2600K!

So, there you are. Brand new computer that doesn't work. So, the only thing left to do is buy the Core i7-2600 and, when it gets here, swap it out and hope for the best.

And then... well, you'll have this shiny new Core i7-2600K all lonely sitting on the work bench. Well, not much else to do except buy a bunch of new components and a motherboard that -does- support the 2600K.

Now I'll be stuck with 2 new little power house computers.

    ...and the Folding continues.

Oh, and I'll be loading Linux Mint 11 on them.

I thought I made a mistake once, but, of course, I was mistaken.

You can't send the 2600K back with a restocking fee?

Hmmm, well, the thermal paste from the cooler would be missing. They probably wouldn't take it back... besides... it is a good excuse to build another Folding machine, eh?

Now, if I start blowing fuses or if the temp in the room goes above 85... then I'd just sell one of them locally, I reckon.

Hey, I just can't help myself. I have, let's see, I currently have 10 computers folding (2 are laptops and one is a PS3 and 6 of the computers are quad core). I also have 6 computers that currently aren't powered up. And I have two Atom based Supermicro rack mounted computers that are Smoothwall machines. So, that's what.. about 200 computers.. a couple more won't hurt!

    Catch me if you can.

Oh, wait a minute... you're still #1 in the standings! D'OH!

Hopefully Cybertron can get back into the mix soon.

Yeah, I just moved and my utility bills have been crazy high so I haven't been folding to save on electricity (especially back when I was still needing AC). Once things settle down I should be able to get started again, and in the winter it will save me on heating bills.
