Wine and the cdrom drive
I use Wine to run dBpoweramp. I like the AccurateRip feature.
It has worked great until just recently. Since I run "testing", I assume a recent update caused the issue.
The application behaves as if there is no disk in the drive. The drive works fine in all native Linux functions.
Any ideas of what might be wrong?
debian "testing" 3.1.0-1-686-pae
wine 1.0.1-3.1
Thanks,

Those version numbers look way out-of-date. Debian testing should be in the 5's or 6's, and wine should be in 1.3 I think.

"testing" doesn't actually have a version #. Perhaps 7 if you're looking ahead.
Wine is up to date with what's available in the debian testing repositories.
Google searches have returned issues from years ago.

Well, if you're really on Wine 1.0.1 then it is from years ago.
The current stable version is 1.2.3 according to the website, so I would suggest giving that a shot. They have a package available for Debian so if it doesn't fix the problem it should be easy enough to uninstall again.
Unfortunately Wine does still have regressions, so it's possible that your last update got you a version with one related to the disk drive. It's a pain, but that's the price of running software under an OS it wasn't written for, I guess.
