    PCI hacks

I have a Lenovo x120e which has a spare PCIe slot, but it specifically designed for a WAN card.

What do I have to do to it to accept ANY pci card?

Specifically the Crystal Broadcom HD decoder...if that matters.

I would think Lenovo would have just provided a spare slot for any device, but apparently only WAN cards work.

You will have to find a modified BIOS image with the PCI-ID whitelist checking disabled.

I (believe) I have done so but no card I put in that slot is recognized.

I *assumed* the wiring to that slot is just incompatible? Is that possible?

Also: hey dkeav...long time no talk. Didn't think you hung out here anymore.

that slot won't support like m-sata devices, but any other "normal" mini-pci-e card "should" work...if you can get it to show up.

    pps: i don't, i popped in to hassle bs_texas
