Problems with installing VMware Tools on Fedora 13 guest

I was hoping someone here can help me. I am new to Linux. When I try to decompress the tar.gz file, I get error message attached. I figured a screen shot maybe more useful. Can anyone here look at this error and see if you can guide me in the right direction? I have been having a really hard time installing VMware Tools and would really appreciate your help.
    Thanks

What is the real name of the archive file? What folder is it really stored under? Looks like it can't find the folder you're specifying. Then it can't find the file you're specifying.

So, where did the downloaded archive actually save to ... ?

Remember that Fedora 13 is WAY past End Of Life and as such will be a lot more difficult to work with since there is no support and *most" of the yum repositories are gone.
