The genealogical tree of Unix-like operating systems [1]
A Unix-like operating system (sometimes abbreviated as * nix) is an operating system that was created under the influence of Unix. The term includes free / open operating systems formed from Unix by Bell Labs or emulating its capabilities, commercial and proprietary developments, and versions based on Unix source code. There is no standard defining the term, and different points of view on whether to consider a particular product as Unix-like or not are acceptable.
