well Linus Torvalds announced yesterday the Linux kernel 6.12: This is now generally available.

The new kernel version has some interesting new features to offer - and all sounds pretty exciting.
In addition to the usual updates to support current and future CPUs and GPUs, two new features stand out.

well: what can we expect from that - what can we do now !?

What benefits do we have - and what advantages.

note: i have heard that the devs worked allmost two decades to get the Real-Time-Thing done..

For most people real time isn't going to matter. Games could benefit.
Basic linux is a time sharing os where there is a scheduler to coordinate resources between applications etc. Critical events need to happen in a fixed time period or responded to in a certain time period. Embedded applications like a drone flight control software would benefit with real time.

It s mainly about reducing latency and making sure critical tasks are handled within strict timing windows. Its especially useful for embedded systems, industrial controls, audio processing, or anything where timing matters. For regular browsing, coding, and gaming, it won't change much day to day, but it's a huge step for systems that need guaranteed responsiveness.

Latency and slow timing are crimes in the users view, given that extreme cocaino-usage, toxic foods, massive pollution factors, and cellphone radiation has melted away humanity's spirits and minds, and has devolved humanity into alien chimps... Zero latency and speed is what the user demands these days.. They don't want to wait for anything.. Waiting is a serious offense and crime to them, but they'll sit playing cartoon video games, or watching teevee for hours and hours, believing they are living their lives as life intended.. They need everything to be instant, is why fast cars, fast foods, new phones, and new games are a big hit for them.. That's all they've got left of living life.. Essentially they died inside.. That's the speed-game the cyber demons are playing with.. They find ways to speed-up things a little bit, then use that as bait to entice the user to install their huge underlying package of malware, spyware, and trojans... Nearly every new software these days is designed to steal peoples private data.. It's a kind of a feeding-frenzy war attached to china's, putin's, and religion's precious nazi greed-biased WW3 to take over the world for their mummies... It's anunnaki alien t.rex's destroying humanity for fun and sport...

"For regular browsing, coding, and gaming, it won't change much day to day".. so the Linux user should ignore all the bs about latency and speed, and be content with what they've got.. Pushing for speed breaks things...

If someone wants speed with an old notebook, buy the best new fastest hard drive available..
