File-Manager, which one to use?

i am fairly new to Linux and i am looking for a nice file manager.


i so ideally want the terminal file manager-.

smoothness and usabillty and asethetics are pretty important.

Do you recommend any file manager ?!

Smoothness, usability and aesthetics is all in the eye of the beholder.

For terminal or console file managers I have only used midnight commander. Others that might be worth looking at are Vifm or maybe lfm.

I will have a closer look at the midnight commander. heard about this one allready.

Vifm or maybe lfm - well yes: i also take them into account - and will test them
