update process failed due to wrong and out dated mirrorlist... - my workaround

good evening dear friends on the Just-Linux-Forum,

well from time to time i update my linux-system on the notebook. But doing so - i need to have the correct mirrors - to fetch the data.
That said it sometimes comes to difficulties and issues - in the update process.


So like yesterday: - during the update-process on a linux i got into serious issues - the mirror-list was not actual . and the mirrors were not found (duhh thats bad) - so i need to have a wrokaround - a workaround that could be applied on my several notebooks - so that i do not have any issues - in the future.



one approach could be to edit the pacman (note i am on an Arch-based Linux) : the pacman configuration:


hmmm - i think that i work with nano on the config file in pacman ...

well i guess that i need to comment out the lines with the community

If you added any microstuf related softwares to test for them creating new exploits in Arch Linux in the ongoing war on Linux, maybe the microstuf additions are rejecting a few of the update processes like how widows works with various strong Linux related aftermarket programs in rejecting and uninstalling them at upgrade..? Seems you'll need to reinstall the Arch OS, and test out one front-line invasion program at a time to determine the culprit that won that battle..

Maybe Arch has built-in security against microstuf attacks, intrusions, invasions..? probably...

Most Linux doesn't need updates anyway.. It works proper from the install ISO... Check out the Arch forums..

Maybe your company's com system's security rejected Arch updates as being an intruder invasion and threat..? That's probably it... i some times run into these update-issues (due to some updates,that i run after a few weeks - so that these are hmm "somewhat" outdated and the mirrors are not "up-to-date" any more. These kinds of issues are sometimes hard to cope with - but i think that i have to find out a way to keep the system updated well - so that i do not run into such traps.. -

i need to figure out more details - and yes: i need to do some research on the arch-specific things - Demanding truth: youre right. This is important.

It's crucial everyone stop believing in the updates-scams.. Now days the updates are the malware's.. Back a few years after an evil corporation acquired Linux Mint and its forums, a month later out came 55 sudden new updates in the update manager, then progressively 230 new updates (now it's over 500 updates, which is totally ridiculous), then the OS became all messed-up and porous to evil hackers, so I reinstalled, and 100% boycotted all updates and upgrades, and settled upon Linux Mint Mate 20.3, which isn't corrupted by hell's mindless soulless hell-bound cocaino and religion damaged dead-mind, dead-spirit, loveless, greed-saturated, demon-corporations...

Don't believe their bs 'that their updates adds security measures', because their updates actually block, exploit, and remove security measures in their insanity putin-style war on Linux to make Linux offensive and distasteful to new users, to discredit, steal, and damage the free honorable Linux competition...

If you wish to see proof: install Linux Mint Mate 20.3, the ISO obtained from 'Mr. To's Mint Archives'.. Note how easy and enjoyable it is to install.. Then install the newest Linux Mint.. Notice how it's a painful experience to install like widows is, and that all the security has been stripped out of it, especially out of the new firefox.. Seems the devil has acquired controlling shares in canonical, is why I never update anything these days.. The OS works well just as it is without bs updates.. The newer OS's are a porous exploitable mess, a hackers playground... Someone curious should install Mr. To's Mint 20.3 not updated, then install the first download ISO offered in a google search, updated.. I bet they are seriously different.. I bet the google one is a pain in the 'nasty dark place' to install and run... (Do so dump UFW and firefox, and add old Bleachbit, Portmaster and Librewolf to the Mr. To archive install).. First time I did all that, I received a dozen popups and emails informing me that there was something wrong with my OS installation.. If you edit pix, choose Mate, boycott Cinnamon.. Cinnamon doesn't work with pix editing nor with pix sorting and filing.. Cinnamon freezes-up the OS when pix handling, is why I dumped cinnamon, and opted for 'Mate'...

We don't need security updates because the newer malware mostly targets widows OS's.. All the newer OS's are hellish to use, like running through a cow pasture field barefoot blindfolded.. They are porous non-secure corrupted crap... If you've ever accidentally stepped on a crusty cow-poop, you know exactly what I mean...

I simply leave the LMM-20.3 install ISO CD in the slot, and everything new uploaded daily to a safety-copy of a backup.. Mostly I do my editing work in my backup external hard drives...

The moment the netbook's OS even slightly glitches, I know some cocaino-damaged mother-dependent superhero cristian demon-turd has tampered with it, or I accidentally clicked on a bad corrupt website, so I push-in the CD tray, reboot, and reinstall Linux Mint Mate 20.3.. I never ever lose anything.. Everything is in backups.. Most of my valued stuff is in 50 secure backups..
So what if it takes a whole 90-minutes start to finish fully customized for a new install.. Most of that time I click-on a few buttons to get things going, then walk away, letting the computer do its thing.. Had to reinstall the OS 2-days ago, so now it's clean for at least a couple weeks, maybe a whole month, I hope.. After a clean install I plug-in the external hard drive for new installs backup, and upload that new installs file, which contains 10-gigs of valued data: my best: pix, videos, notes, passwords, and music.. I start it uploading, then walk away... When I return to the netbook it's finished and complete exactly like it was before the hack damage...

Sometimes the hack corruption is so powerful that it makes it so the computer won't reinstall the OS, so I pull the hard drive, and run it through the utility notebook, formatting the troubled hard drive, then run it through DBAN, then it's clean, and it installs smooth...

I have about 100 free retired notebooks, only this expendable piece of junk notebook gets connected to the internet.. The internet is now a hellish lawless war-zone, saturated with: greed, organized crime, religious insanity, terrorism, and war.. So toss out your computer notebook, and get an 'etch-a-sketch'...


Now I'll copy, and paste this lengthy note to a word processor file on the desktop, spellcheck it, proofread it, reconnect the net, re-login, and post it...
