Lightbulb which mapages do you use - which one do you trust!?

good evening dear frinends, hello to everyone,

which mapages do you use - which one do you trust!?

Man pages will never be dead, because they are more efficient and fast to browse with the documentation - think its crucial.

I always like man pages :

btw: the GitHub page of TLDR pages for Linux/Unix are a great collection - a truley great asset of knowledge and information: and yes it describes collection of simplified and community-driven man pages.

the question of the day is: which ressources do you use and consult if you Need to have more Information:

i think its an effort to have such great assets - like the following_

https://tldr.sh/ : Simplified Alternative To Linux Man Pages

    https://tldr.sh/

    https://github.com/tldr-pages/tldr

    https://www.howtogeek.com/man-pages-...plex-try-tldr/

    and of course:

    https://man7.org/index.html
    https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man8/ss.8.html

look forward to hear from you

    greetings

It depends. If I am looking for options I refer to the installed man pages. They should be the latest and greatest for the version installed. Whereas if I am looking for generic help would be man7 or tldr.

    good morning dear Michael,
many thanks for the reply - and for sharing your experience - and your "use-case" in this topic. Great to hear from you - and seeing you sharing your thoughts.

i find man7 very useful - and tldr too!!

Hope others will find your ideas also helpful - and will take a look at these pages.

BTW; i am loving these forums here. - They are so great!

    have a great day

    greetings

Reading the specs on 'man page' in Wiki, it seems 'man page' opens everything about your computer onto the internet, even terminal.. Why would you do that..? That would be like walking in a crowded mall, and taking all your clothes off.. Not that I'm shy, it's just that it would get me arrested and dragged away wrapped in a itchy wool grey blanket...

dhubs, why the hell are you posting so many recommendations to do what compromises and destroys our Linux computers, and makes our net-computers open and vulnerable to malware, invasion, infiltration, money and data-thievery..? You are growing more and more aggressive about recommending ways we should compromise our data onto the internet.. You aren't stupid, you are quite intelligent, are you a secret service agent working for a nation's espionage group..? Are you working for MSS..?

You and michael seem to be bar room chat buddies the way you two collaborate and seem to finish each others ideas and statements on recommending potential malware schemes to us.. Are you related.. Are you both espionage agent buddies in the same spy agency..? Are you playing 'good-cop/bad-cop'..? Just wondering.. Just asking...
