Antix comes with an assortment of about a dozen desktop managers.. If you want to test out desktop managers Antix is probably the way to do it...
I just installed Antix in a spare notebook.. It's interesting and a little bit complicated and strange.. It's not like any other Linux OS.. Install Antix on a spare hard drive, and test it out.. It seems to be a good OS, but in the first run of configuring and tests I still can't figure out how to get it net-connected.. It might be a good OS for the Linux wise newbie..? Antix seems to be all about security.. Seems its creators rewrote Linux from the bottom up.. Some people worked hard and long to create Antix for us...

antix is a non-systemd lightweight distribution based on debian and uses iptables with gufw as a frontend. It uses Windows Managers instead of Desktop Environments which is probably why you think it is strange and yes there are many to choose from. I assume you are using wireless since you it installed it on a laptop. While a wired connection should be seamless you need to make sure the wireless drivers are installed and then connman or ceni depending on which version you installed to configure the wireless connection.

Thanks for the knowledgeable tips.. It works, but it's grueling, as in 'pain in the butt', and I doubt that this OS is safe and secure... Seems you are quite knowledgeable in this area.. I tried a few things, but had to install software that I don't trust, so I cooled my anger, formatted the hard drive, and tossed the CD.. Antix is just too much fooling around and stress to be functional and useful.. I suppose they'll work hard to eventually refine it into a viable consumer product, which will probably take its place at the top with the best., but that's gonna be one hell of a grueling task...
Right now I need an OS that's compatible with iTunes to process music into mp3 players, or a new software that works in Linux with iPhones to process music, is why I'm 'grasping at straws' when new stuff comes out.. I have problems running a windows OS exclusive for iTunes, as it updates itself and deletes aftermarket programs and my user's customizing while I have the thing resetting iPods and iPhones.. It's as if microsoft owns my computer.. And windows is forever insulting, stifling, and bullying the user as if someone is forever 'peeing on our heads'.. Running windows is like stepping on a rattle snake's tail, or like walking on thin ice, and falling in, or like flushing the latrine, and it flushes up instead of down.. I wish microsoft had the smarts, soul, honor, and wits to understand that their excessive incessant state of the art bullying is meticulously killing their business, that their MO is squeezing the life out of humanity like how commercial abattoirs butcher beef and poultry.. If bet if you saw that, you would puke.. I almost did... They've got $150-billion in the pocket from their greedy bullying.. How much money does one guy need to live a comfortable life..? No one can buy 'heaven'... Power isn't money, that stuff is superficial and dies.. Real power is in love, honor, dignity, honesty, kindness, and truth.. microsoft should define for itself what 'love, honor, dignity, honesty, kindness, and truth means.. Some of the worlds loveless greedy money-sucking elitist corporations, governments, and religious terrorist organizations desperately need the new surgery to get their heads expunged from their ah's.. They need be taught what it means to be human.. They need to stop cannibalizing us, and give us some back.. They need to wake up and grow up...

No linux distribution will every be compatible with iTunes. Running under Wine is as good as it is going to get. Based on WineHq database version 12 works best. I do not know since I do not own any Apple products. Blame Apple as well as Microsoft.
