    mail

OK, now I have a question.
I have been reading this thread, I tried the example backup script that emails the tmp_email file to xxx@xxxx.com ( I replaces this with my-user-name@localhost.localdomain.
Where does this file GO? I can't find it. Does mail, need a config file? I'm a newbie with mail.

edit >>>> I did not try the entire script, just the mail part ( I wrote my own backup script). Mail did not give me an error
or any indication the message was/was not sent. Where is the mail box. I have looked everywhere, I think!

    TIA

Try typing 'mail' at the command line. That should show you if the mail is there.

    mail

    It's there. I did:

    mail
    CTRL D
    ENTER
tried mailq, returened an error , mail system down. I read the HOWTO on mandrake. I need a file called postaliases.
What does that go with? My CD's don't have this file.

    >> edit

    I typed mail:
    no mail for <me>

    TIA
