... i am musing about to start my own self-hosting-thing -,

that means i am thinking about the setup of a special NAS
Well in other words. I think to self host a NAS instead of paying large fees to the companies - this would be a good option to save some money.

Currently i am reading some manpages bout the setup of nextcloud on the NAS.

By the way: What sort of tools do you use/know/recommend to host an image sharing and prefferably a gallery on your NAS-Install?

background: i was using the Google Photos-Option to back up my pictures for close to a full decade now. But i think that there are other options - there must be other options. Some friends of me told me that they use some cool self-hostet options and methods.

Are there some apps and options out there that

- automatically backs up photos shot on my phone in the background. and besides that
- give me whenever it is wanted or needet a access to my gallery, and if possible give me the
- option to either use the app or fire up Google Photos on the web.


Do you know any option - which one do you use!?
