    Lightbulb boot-device: how to choose the right one - with a live example

    good day dear friends,
    hello at all,


    well dear guys this is a image of a thinkpad T520 (btw. i love these robust Notebooks)

    what makes me wonder -

    a. can i boot from usb-stick here?

    b. is the hdd visible here!?

    well i guess that in the first pic there is no(!) HDD - but in the second list:

    additional: some more questions regaring the T 520

    well currently i am musing on the question: to add a SSD and more RAM

    well which type of SSD do i need here!?
    Which RAM - does fit - U(at the moment i run 4 gigs

    I would guess that any 2.5 inch SATA SSD drive would work.

    The max RAM is 8GB but you would need to research what type of memory and the max single memory stick is compatible with the laptop.

    I would also guess that you would need to make USB HD the first boot device for a flash drive to boot.
